I really like this passage of scripture from today's reading. It has been a reminder to me not to plot evil things for others, because if I do, I will merely fall into my own trap.

Psalm 7
14 Whoever is pregnant with evil
conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment.
15 Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out
falls into the pit they have made.
16 The trouble they cause recoils on them;
their violence comes down on their own heads.

As for yesterday's reading and comments, I agree there needs to be balance, but I also believe that Joab was there as a counterbalance to David and we need friends in our lives who balance us when we are so far out of balance.
