You are right Mike. As I was reading Psalm 22, I could see the parallel to Jesus crucifixion especially verses 1,6-7,12-18. Was David prophesying on the death of Christ?

I pray Psalm 23 when I am afraid, lost and in despair.

Verse 4: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me".

Then I am no longer afraid.
