You ask Mike:
Why would God send Jesus, full of light, grace and truth into the world? Why was this necessary?

We just finished yeaterday the OT. God loves us deeply. Time & time again we read about the Israelites going back and forth sinning, repenting, praising God and then worshiping idols, etc. This is why God sent Jesus. We can not save ourselves. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice to redeem us from our sins. Praise God for that.

It is good to see God's promise in the OT that a saviour will come from the tree of Jesse as the genealogy shows in the first chapter of the book of Mathew and it's fulfillment in the NT.
