Since coming to Christ I dont listen to secular music...although some is not bad. I do struggle with many movies and TV shows ...so hard to find ones that are not so in the world and compromising ... As I grow in my walk with Jesus.. I find more and more programs I no longer watch....

I understand your question about listening to secular music vs. Christian music. I do listen to secular music. I love old music from the 40’s up to and thru the 70’s. However, if I need to be encouraged or have my soul filled with joy, Christian music is my choice. Sometimes I ask myself — “Am I better for having listened to that? Or did I just waste valuable time? What is my state-of-mind and heart after having listened to that? Could I have made a better choice? If I am to be a person of excellence, did that song please God and display excellence?” It should be my goal to ask those questions BEFORE and not AFTER I have listened. I’m not there yet! Scripture tells me — “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.” (1Corinthians 6:12)
